Your Lips: Gates of Glory!

by Tonja Taylor
1/11/2021 / Christian Living

18 Therefore you shall lay up these My words in your [minds and] hearts and in your [entire] being, and bind them for a sign upon your hands and as forehead bands between your eyes. 19 And you shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you rise up20 And you shall write them upon the doorposts of your house and on your gates, That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the Lord sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.  --Deut. 11:18-20, AMPC

For a few years, I've prayed daily for the LORD to put His words in my mouth, and to make my mouth a fountain of life, so that my lips would nourish many.

As our LORD Jesus stated, what comes out of the mouth comes from the heart, so it's really our hearts that need to be filled, and then our mouths will produce what's in our hearts; more than not, anyway! We still have to train and discipline our souls (mind, will, and emotions) to cooperate!

When we speak the Word of God, pray, and thank and praise Him, we are allowing His glory to come through our the "gates" of our lips.  When we are thankful and focused on the LORD and how good He has been to us, then we are focused on His glory, for part of the glory of God is the goodness of God. When we are focused on the LORD and His goodness, then our lips become "gates of glory" as we open them and brag on Him to others (which is what it means to "testify" or "witness" for Him; we simply tell the wonderful things He's done for us!)!

When we speak good things, it helps bring Heaven to earth!

Especially in these times that can be very rocky and disturbing if we look at the circumstances, we need to stay focused on the LORD Jesus Who loves us beyond compare, Who is coming soon, and Who remains unchanged no matter what changes around us, as it states in Hebrews 13:8: Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is [always] the same, yesterday, today, [yes] and forever (to the ages). (AMPC)

HALLELUJAH!

So may the LORD help us open our lips so His glory--His goodness--can pour fourth from them like a river, and thus witness to His loving grace so others can be encouraged and drawn to Jesus, our only Hope!

Tonja and her husband live to exalt God. They lift Him up in books (P.O.W.E.R. Girl!; LEGACY; Visions of the King; Your Holy Health; more); presentations; service in church, community, and the world; and via the "River Rain Creative" (309 videos) and "POWERLight Learning" You Tube channels.
