Miserable

I hear the sounds of light rain outside my door.

It’s springtime but this morning there was a damp chill in the air. One day we might use the air conditioner; the following morning we turn up the heat. I’m naturally cold natured; so, I keep a light robe handy. When riding as passenger in our vehicles, I cover my lap with a blanket. On the rare occasions that I feel hot in church, I know the heat is stifling. My friends must feel miserable.

Unconfessed sin also makes people miserable.

Confession brings forgiveness and joy!

“How joyful is the one
whose transgression is forgiven,
whose sin is covered!
How joyful is the man
the Lord does not charge with sin
and in whose spirit is no deceit!

When I kept silent, my bones became brittle
from my groaning all day long.
For day and night Your hand was heavy on me;
my strength was drained
as in the summer’s heat. Selah
Then I acknowledged my sin to You
and did not conceal my iniquity.
I said,
‘I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,’
and You took away the guilt of my sin. Selah (Psalm 32:1-5 HCSB)."

Taken away…

“As far as the east is from the west,
so far has He removed
our transgressions from us (Psalm 103:12 HCSB).”
