An Easy Way to Get More Done!

by Tonja Taylor

How can I get more done? I've wondered many times in my life. I bet you have too. Especially as Americans, we want to be super-productive.

I've learned, of course, to put a cleansing masque on my face while I'm conditioning my hair, as I clean house while listeniing to true worship or preaching, or while I pray.

God does love us based on performance--but it's not concerning ours; He loves us based on the performance of Jesus on the cross! So our Daddy God (We get to call Him that and have that most sublime divine relationship from the moment we ask Him to forgive us of our sins, and ask Jesus to come into our hearts and be our Savior and LORD, and do something good with our lives! (John 3:14-17, Luke 19:10)

No matter how old we are, we remain forever His "little children." Hallelujah!

But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name—John 1:12, AMPC

We even often expect our kids to multi-task; to be super-involved and productive in many ways. The root of this is to help them "get ahead."

(Get ahead of what? of whom? But that's another writing.)

Anyway, if you're still reading this, here's how to get more done: Receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in tongues!

When you pray in the Spirit, it's called "praying in tongues," because it is a Heavenly language--not anything you create with your mind or will, but the Spirit of God speaks through you the perfect will of God. Hallelujah, how amazing is that? Our God is truly awesome!

True Believers want to understand and perform the will of God. The Word of God, the Bible, is His written instruction for us; the perfect will of God. This is called the "logos" of God. We read it, pray and proclaim it, and live it!

There are questions that come up in life about specifics that we need additional revelation for, and that requires hearing the Voice of God through His Spirit, whether it's an impression, where we just know we're supposed to do something (or not!), or whether we actually hear Him speak to us deep within. This is called the "rhema" of God.

The LORD is faithful to confirm His rhema to us, although we may have to wait on that confirmation. However, the main way our Good Shepherd, the LORD Jesus Christ, leads us, is by His Word, then peace. (If you believe the LORD has spoken a rhema word to you, but it goes against Scripture, then it is not from God. You will not have true peace with it.)

Hallelujah! He is faithful!

So, it's really simple to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is freely given to all true Believers (those who have received Christ Jesus as their Savior and LORD), and it is given to empower Believers for service--which is why Believers are on the planet.

45 And the believers from among the circumcised [the Jews] who came with Peter were surprised and amazed, because the free gift of the Holy Spirit had been bestowed and poured out largely even on the Gentiles. 46 For they heard them talking in [unknown] tongues (languages) and  magnifying God. Then Peter asked, 47 Can anyone forbid or refuse water for baptizing these people, seeing that they have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?--Acts 10:45-47, AMPC

I received Christ Jesus when I was 9, at Vacation Bible School. Hallelujah! However, I had no idea about the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues until years later--when I was taught that it was from hell. I have repented for believing that lie!

The LORD had to move me to a city 10 times bigger and hours away, as a single divorced mom, in order to get me away from lying voices, and to teach me the truth about the Holy Spirit. It took me months, and I was scorning it, but curious as well.

Thank goodness--after reading books about it and talking to a patient pastor about it, and being led to two churches where successful "normal" Christians talked freely in tongues and didn't do anything weird, then having a couple pray with me about it (when I finally decided that, as I told God, "if this is from You, then I want it, 'cause I want all of You I can get!")--the LORD answered me quickly!  He is so gracious!

A couple hours after the people prayed for me at the church to receive the baptism, I was eating a hamburger in my apartment. The voice of God said gently, "Put down your sandwich and stand up."  I did and I raised my hands. I just knew inside what was coming! Sure enough, moments later, the most beautiful words were coming out of my mouth--but I didn't understand any of them! However, wonderful waves of peace and joy were flowing through me and over me. I knew He had answered my prayer! Hallelujah!

So [to conclude], my brethren, earnestly desire and set your hearts on prophesying (on being inspired to preach and teach and to interpret God’s will and purpose), and do not forbid or hinder speaking in (unknown)  tongues.--I Corinthians 14:39, AMPC

Speaking in the Spirit is praying the perfect will of God. He never misses it, and it's a language that is generated by and understood by the Holy Spirit and the holy angels. (The enemy and his fallen angels can never understand it and hate it when we pray in the Spirit. HAHAHAHAHA!) It's like code language between the Spirit of God in us and our spirits, and God the Father in Heaven! Glory!

When we pray in the Spirit, we are performing the ultimate multi-tasking. Not only can we do this anywhere (under our breath, even, if needed--like I did when I was working in a store and would pray underneath my mask!), but we can be assured we are praying the perfect will for ourselves, and anyone else and anything else that the LORD deems appropriate right then.

When we pray in the Spirit, we are partnering with Him to expedite the soon return of our glorious King, the LORD Jesus Christ! Hallelujah!

However, God is a Gentleman and He has chosen to give us all a free will. You can choose not to pray in the Spirit. But why not? It is the language of Heaven, and you can accomplish much more by praying in the Holy Spirit (tongues) and faster, than you know! You can affect things, operations, and people across the globe! When you pray in the Spirit, the LORD can give you understanding in your mind of the parts that you need to know. He is faithful!

If you are born again and would like to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, you can pray this pray out loud right now:  Dear Father in Heaven, thank You for saving me through the Blood of Jesus. Hallelujah! Now, I want more of You! Please baptize me in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. I receive it and thank You and celebrate You! Hallelujah! in Jesus' name!

Now, relax. Many people have just a couple or few words to start with; some have entire sentences. It doesn't matter. Your Heavenly language will be unique to you! Congratulations! You've just risen to a whole never level of Christianity! Enjoy, and pray as often as you can.  The more you pray, the more you may notice patterns of how the Holy Spirit--Who is God!--prays through you His perfect will for you and the earth! Hallelujah!

Praying in the Holy Spirit is probably the most powerful way on earth to "get more done." Go for it!
