P.O.W.E.R.* Girl VI (excerpt) - I Need Jesus!

Wow, Pearl thought. Burke and Jordan are mesmerized by the movie of Jesus being flogged and crucified, LORD. Use this to bring them to salvation!

“Oh man! Look at the blood—cool!” Burke burst out.

Jordan and Robin both bopped him with their fingers. "Shhh!" Robin said.

“Excuse me!” they heard Ms. Risa say, and a bit loudly. “We keep our hands to ourselves, correct—Robin?!”

Robin, behind Burke’s back, pointed at him and shook her head. Pearl did the same.

Ms. Risa raised her eyebrows and gave them a look like, Don’t do that again!

The girls started to move past Burke and Jordan, then Pearl stopped. She elbowed Robin. “He’s crying!” she whispered. That’s exciting! Burke is actually touched!

Burke wiped at his eyes. “Am not!” And he quickly walked in front of the other three girls to get away from them.

Jordan stayed there, silent tears rolling down her face.

They could hear the next group coming around the corner. “C’mon, Jordan,” said Pearl gently. But Jordan wouldn’t budge. It was like she was glued to the spot, watching Jesus, saying nothing.

Pearl smiled. Wow, LORD, You are really working! Hallelujah!

Ms. Risa walked up quietly behind Jordan, with the hint of a smile on her face. She pointed for Pearl and Robin to go on.

She put her arm gently around Jordan, and Jordan just hugged her, then burst out crying. “I need Jesus!” she said. “He died for me! I need Jesus!”

The next four students rushed around the corner to see what was going on, but Ms. Risa silently motioned for them to go around and skip that part for now. A female official of the museum came up and led Jordan and Ms. Risa to a back room.

“I think she just got saved!” Pearl whispered loudly, air-clapping her hands.

“Yeah! Isn’t that awesome?” said Robin, and they did a high-five.

“God is awesome!” said Pearl, as they approached the diorama of many of Jesus’ good deeds. “Wow, this is so neat,” she said. “Look! It starts at His birth and goes all the way through His resurrection! Here’s the wedding, and the woman at the well, and Jesus raising Lazarus! And hey Robin, where is it that all the things Jesus did could not be written down cause there wouldn’t be room for all the books?”

“Well, Mom would know,” said Robin. “It’s in there somewhere!”

“Yeah,” said Pearl. “Mom says even if we don’t know the address, the important thing is that we know it’s in there!”
