God Helps Us to Please Him!

by Tonja Taylor
5/09/2022 / Christian Living

[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and  delight.--Philippians 2:13, AMPC

God is a good, good Father! He knows we true Believers want to please Him, and that sometimes we need some help to understand how to do that even more effectively.  Here's some proof He will help us!

If you're like me, you want to make sure every day that you please your Father God.

There are a couple of things that we must remember:

(1) As His children, adopted by faith through the pure blood (of Christ Jesus), whichh was shed for us on the cross over 2,000 years ago, we already please Him! Hallelujah!  Just like I delight in my darling daughter (now 25; graduated right out of high school from university with a degree in commercial art; gainfully employed; a talented artist, and wonderful, Godly, warm, caring, and generous person; happily married a couple of year to her best friend, whom she met at church camp over 10 years ago); and just beautiful and very dear to me), who pleases me just because she is mine--how much more does Daddy God delight in us, His kids, who hope in Him and fear Him!

We already please Him! He loves us as much as He loves Jesus!

(2) There is nothing we can do, apart from receiving what the blood sacrifice of Jesus did for us, to please God more. We can never earn His love by doing enough good works--or abstaining from wrong ones. Hallelujah!

We please Him because we are in Christ!

So, when we speak of "trying to please Him," we mean doing those good works that He has planned ahead of time for us to do (Ephesians 2:10). Doing His perfect Plan is what will help us reach the most people for Christ; be the most satisfied; be the most free; and be the most prosperous, amen!

So our job is to (1) know that we are right with God when we have received Christ Jesus and do our best to follow His Word every day; and (2) to follow Him by the Holy Spirit--Who will always speak in agreement with His Word--to understand the specifics of following Him and making wise choices daily, to bring Him glory in all of our lives.

We praise You, LORD Jesus, and thank You that You help us to praise the Father! Amen and amen!

Tonja and her husband live to exalt God. They lift Him up in books (P.O.W.E.R. Girl!; LEGACY; Visions of the King; Your Holy Health; more); presentations; service in church, community, and the world; and via the "River Rain Creative" (309 videos) and "POWERLight Learning" You Tube channels.
