Why We Won't Need the Sun in Heaven

by Tonja Taylor
7/04/2022 / Christian Living

I've known the sublime fact for a couple decades that Jesus will be the Light in Heaven, and we won't need a sun; there will be no shadows--only wonderful, pure Light.

And there shall be no more night; they have no need for lamplight or sunlight, for the Lord God will illuminate them and be their light, and they shall reign [as kings] forever and ever (through the eternities of the eternities).--Revelation 22:5, AMPC

The LORD Jesus is The True Light--on earth and in Heaven!

Jesus is the true Light--on earth, and in Heaven: In His right hand He held seven stars, and from His mouth there came forth a sharp two-edged sword, and His face was like the sun shining in full power at midday.--Revelation 1:16, AMPC

Hallelujah, and if we know Christ Jesus as our Savior and LORD by believing in what His pure blood did for us at the cross, then we have Him--the true Light--within us! Regardless of what the (demonically-deceived!) worldly people think, we true Believers in Christ are the truly enlightened ones!

Then today in my morning Bible study, I discovered another fascinating fact: We whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life will also be illuminating the Kingdom! Hallelujah! God is so good to us!

There is a reference in the Old Testament about us. We are not all teachers, but if we've received Christ and deliberately follow Him, we can be considered wise, for to follow--honor and love and obey--Christ is wisdom!

And the teachers and those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness (to uprightness and right standing with God) [shall give forth light] like the stars forever and ever.—Daniel 12:3, AMPC

Then there is the reference in the New Testament (and there may be more; search the Scriptures for yourself!):

Then will the righteous (those who are upright and in right standing with God) shine forth like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Let him who has ears [to hear] be listening, and let him consider and perceive and  understand by hearing.--Matthew 13:43, AMPC

Hallelujah! We get the honor of shining with Him in Heaven, as we wear our Robes of Righteousness, provided by His Blood (Isaiah 61:10, Revelation 19:7-8)

So praise the LORD, we will definitely shine in Heaven!

Meanwhile, let us be focused Light here on earth.

Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence  and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven.--Matthew 5:16, AMPC

Sing it with me: "This little Light of mine; I'm gonna let it shine (repeat)!"

Now, go let The True Light of Jesus within you shine His hope to this needy world!
