As One!

3 Be eager and strive earnestly to guard and keep the harmony and oneness of [and produced by] the Spirit in the binding power of peace. 4 [There is] one body and one Spirit—just as there is also one hope [that belongs] to the calling you received— 5 [There is] one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of [us] all, Who is above all [Sovereign over all], pervading all and [living] in [us] all.--Ephesians 4:3-6, AMPC

God is the God of peace unity, which was His desire from the beginning. May He help us all to flow as one with Him!

Through the years, I have been shocked at the strife between Christians. Once, I applied to become an editor at a local Christian publishing company. I had been writing and taking college English classes for years. I was excited to apply, and suffered a slight trauma, I think, when the hiring editor, who'd been glad to talk to me, then changed his mind, and refused to hire me--because, although I was in his denomination, I was not from the exact same part of the denomination!

That floored me!

There are many more disappointments I could go into, but the LORD says to set our minds on things above. Hallelujah!

The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are the perfect Example of moving as One. According to more than one minister I've heard, when Jesus had to go to the cross, the most excruciating part of all was that He was totally separated from His Father for those days.

That is what true hell is--total separation from the Father, Who is Love (I John 4:8).

We all have a choice--to choose Christ and be one with Him and thus with the Father.

Jesus replied, Have I been with all of you for so long a time, and do you not recognize and know Me yet, Philip? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say then, Show us the Father?--John 14:9, AMPC

I have learned--including about myself--that we have to choose every day to get in the Word of God; develop the relationship with Christ Jesus and Father God through the Holy Spirit; regularly attend and become involved in a Bible-believing (and I mean the whole Bible; Old and New Testament!) church; tithe and give offerings as the LORD leads; and ask Him daily to fill us with the Spirit so we can both let Him love others through us, and become aware of things that we need to repent of (stop doing).

(These are all things we can do to become more "as one" with the LORD in our soul (mind, will, and emotions), and thus our flesh (bodies), to govern our bodies correctly because our souls are in alignment (as one) with our spirits--which are perfectly, eternally (as long as we do not renounce our faith and truly realize what we're doing, which really only mature Believers can do) as one with Christ!)

Hallelujah!

Whew! That's quite a list! We cannot do these things ourselves, but that is why we need Jesus! When we became born again by believing in what His blood did for us when He died on the cross over 2,000 years ago and asked Him to forgive our sins and come into our hearts and be our Savior and LORD, then He did! He--the Spirit of Grace!--is our empowerment to live to His glory, from the list above, to whatever else we need to do on this planet before He comes. He is coming quickly!

20 He Who gives this warning and affirms and testifies to these things says, Yes (it is true). [Surely] I am coming quickly (swiftly, speedily). Amen (so let it be)! Yes, come, Lord Jesus! 21 The grace (blessing and favor) of the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) be with all the saints (God’s holy people, those set apart for God, to be, as it were, exclusively His). Amen (so let it be)!--Revelation 22:20-21, AMPC

Amen and amen!

Another picture of living "as one" is marriage--between one man and one woman, the way the LORD God intended it from the start! He created Adam and Eve, and told them to be fruitful and mutliply and subdue the earth (Genesis 1:27-28). It is a God--graced accomplishment for a man and woman to marry and stay married; it involves becoming as one by putting God first, and getting rid of selfishness.

Still, no matter how excellent and loving and unified the marriage, each spouse must seek first to be as one with Jesus, Who is our Life.

When Christ, Who is our life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in [the splendor of His] glory.--Colossians 3:4, AMPC

The more we are as one with Christ; rather, the more we submit to Him, partner with Him to allow Him to express Himself through us (Galatians 5:22 and more!), the more others see Him and desire to become as one with Him.

That, my dear reader, is why we true Believers are on the planet--to lift up Christ that all may be drawn to Him.

The more we, the true Church, flow as one with Him and then each other, the more God will be glorified and the enemy defeated. Light is and will overtake the darkness. Hallelujah!

After that I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse [appeared]! The One Who was riding it is called Faithful (Trustworthy, Loyal, Incorruptible, Steady) and True, and He passes judgment and wages war in righteousness (holiness, justice, and uprightness).--Revelation 19:11, AMPC
