False Accusations.

by Olawale Ogunsola

Accusations come in various ways and forms. One thing about it is that one can be convinced that he is guilty of an accusation if he really committed the offence he is alleged of. In most cases, the guilty will look for an escape route but if it is nemesis that really caught up with him, he will not escape.

This was the case with the thieves nailed to the Cross with Jesus Christ at Golgotha. One of the two declared,
"Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? And we indeed justily, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong." Luke 23:40-41.
That is the guilty and the guiltless on receiving same judgement and punishment. One of those thieves witnessed to the sinlessness of Jesus Christ. Yet He paid the price for all people of the world.

That is the case with the Savior of the whole world!

Do you know that false accusations has always been existing before that of Jesus Christ?

There was a savior or deliverer many years before Jesus Christ pulled off His glory to take up the garments of a Servant. His name was David. He was raised at a time people of God were threatened by their enemies who were ready to enslave them perpetually.

This unknown and unrecognized deliverer was on his father's errands to know the welfare of his brothers on the war front. It was at this point that his real mission became known to him alone. No one else could fathom any reason why he could be looked upon as the messiah of the moment.

Eliab, the eldest son of his family saw him discussing with people about the situation on ground. He was not well pleased with him at all. He accused him,
"Why did you come down here? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride and the insolence of your, for you have come down to see the battle." 1 Samuel Chapter 17:28.

What grave accusations?

*He was accused of negligent of duty. Leaving the few sheep in the wilderness.
*He was accused of pride.
*He was also alleged of having an insolent heart.
*He was also alleged to have wilfully come to be a spectator in the war front.

What was David's response?

He answered, "What have I done now? Is there not a cause?" 1 Samuel 17:29.

In fairness to Eliab, he was acting right in ignorance. What do I mean?

He was next in rank to their father as the first born of the family. He has the authority to "protect" his brothers, most especially, the "baby of the house", the youngest son

Not only that, he was there when David was anointed as next king after king Saul
Would he keep quiet watching the lamp of Israel to be quenched? It was his right to act.

Contrarily, he did not see with the eyes of God. David, a man after the heart of God saw differently. He said, "What have I done now? Is there not a cause?"
His focus was on the cause of his coming to the battlefield as designed by God. It became manifest.

When rain of accusations fell on him, no one could plead his cause but God proved that He sent him to fight His battle. He worn and became a champion in spite of initial grave accusations.

In what area of life are people accusing you falsely? Do you have any strong reason for acting the way you do? Are you doing the will of the Most High God. If your answer is "Yes!", go ahead. Those who criticize or condemn you today will celebrate you when the Lord crown your efforts with success.

SALVATION MESSAGE: In case you just "stumble"on this piece and you do not know your Creator or you have been so far deceived with one religion or the other, I am happy to inform you that TODAY is the appointed time to be reconciled with your Maker.
*Accept the truth that you are a sinner and cannot help yourself.
*Confess all your sins to the Lord Jesus Christ and ask Him to forgive you, He will surely do.
*Ask the Lord to occupy and control your heart forever.
*Request Him to fill you with His Holy Spirit to with you forever.
* Obtain a copy of the Holy Bible for daily reading and application for great benefits.
*Join an assembly of God's children where the Scripture is held in high esteem for fellowship and growth.
May the Lord help you to walk with Him for the rest of your life in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
