P.O.W.E.R.* Girl III - Bonus Material #2 - Jesus' Christmas Tree Presentation Outline and Poem

by Tonja Taylor
9/19/2022 / Short Stories

This is the outline I created when the LORD led me to teach "Jesus' Christmas Tree (for Missing Children) to a homeschool group. You may use it also, keeping my copyright: "© 2012 by Tonja K. Taylor".

This was 10 years ago, when there were over 7 billion people. There may be 8 billion now--and most are missing children of God!  (If they are not born again by faith in what Jesus' life and blood did for them when He died on the cross and rose again after 3 days, they are "MIA"--missing in action; walking dead poeple--true zombies!)

     Here is the outline, complete with Scriptures I used:

  1. 1 Corinthians 10:26, AMP --“For the [whole] earth is the Lord's and everything that is in it.”
  2. John 3:16, AMP – God gave the Gift of JESUS to us to save us, so we can be part of His world-wide Royal Family –“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.”
  • YOU ARE A GIFT TO THE WORLDGod has given many gifts to you, that only you can do, to help Him find and bring His missing children back home!

Below are Scriptures I used (not every word of all of them) to verify what God says about the gifts He gives us, and how to use them:

Romans 11:29, AMP -  “For God's gifts and His call are irrevocable. [He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.]”

Mark 16:15, AMP – “And He said to them, Go into all the world and preach and publish openly the good news (the Gospel) to every creature [of the whole human race].”

  1. We go and He GIVES us the GIFTS OF SOULS!

“Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations as Your inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth as Your possession. Ask of Me, and I will  give You the nations as Your inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth as Your possession.” –Psalm 2:8, AMP

  1.   Your gifts are precious to God—to bless you, and to help others know Him and grow in their walk with Christ.

What if everybody thought they would just “let somebody else do it who is better at it”? Not much would get done! Or what if everybody wanted to do the same thing? That wouldn’t work very well either. As it says in Romans 12:4- 10, we are all necessary and God gives each person gifts as He knows best for us to all work together to show the world Who Jesus is!

Romans 12:4-6 "In this way we are like the various parts of a human body. Each part gets its meaning from the body as a whole, not the other way around. The body we're talking about is Christ's body of chosen people. Each of us finds our meaning and function as a part of his body. But as a chopped-off finger or cut-off toe we wouldn't amount to much, would we?

So since we find ourselves fashioned into all these excellently formed and marvelously functioning parts in Christ's body, let's just go ahead and be what we were made to be, without enviously or pridefully comparing ourselves with each other, or trying to be something we aren't."

(Here are more Scriptures from Romans 12 that you can draw from, about gifts that God gives us.)

 6-8  If you preach, just preach God's Message, nothing else; if you help, just help, don't take over; if you teach, stick to your teaching; if you give encouraging guidance, be careful that you don't get bossy; if you're put in charge, don't manipulate; if you're called to give aid to people in distress, keep your eyes open and be quick to respond; if you work with the disadvantaged, don't let yourself get irritated with them or depressed by them. Keep a smile on your face.

 9-10  Love from the center of who you are; don't fake it. Run for dear life from evil; hold on for dear life to good. Be good friends who love deeply; practice playing second fiddle  The Message, Romans 12:4-10

Then, more about gifts from 1 Corinthians 12:

4 "Now there are distinctive varieties and distributions of endowments (gifts, extraordinary powers distinguishing certain Christians, due to the power of divine grace operating in their souls by the Holy Spirit) and they vary, but the [Holy] Spirit remains the same.

    5 And there are distinctive varieties of service and ministration, but it is the same Lord [Who is served].

    6 And there are distinctive varieties of operation [of working to accomplish things], but it is the same God Who inspires and energizes them all in all.

    7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the [Holy] Spirit [the evidence, the spiritual illumination of the Spirit] for good and profit.

    8 To one is given in and through the [Holy] Spirit [the power to speak] a message of wisdom, and to another [the power to express] a word of knowledge and understanding according to the same [Holy] Spirit;

    9 To another [wonder-working] faith by the same [Holy] Spirit, to another the extraordinary powers of healing by the one Spirit;

    10 To another the working of miracles, to another prophetic insight (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose); to another the ability to discern and distinguish between [the utterances of true] spirits [and false ones], to another various kinds of [unknown] tongues, to another the ability to interpret [such] tongues.

    11 All these [gifts, achievements, abilities] are inspired and brought to pass by one and the same [Holy] Spirit, Who apportions to each person individually [exactly] as He chooses.

  1.      We cannot do everything, but every person can do something, and God will help us.It may not be a "big" thing, but the LORD can take what we offer Him and do big things with it--just like the little loaves and fishes that the young boy gave the disciples; Jesus prayed over them, and then the disciples took them and fed all the people--with more left over! God multiplied the food in the hands of the disciples of Jesus! Hallelujah!  He can do that with you, too, when you follow Him!
  2.     You can take the poem He gave me, "Jesus' Christmas Tree" and print it and give it as a bookmark. (See below--I am using this gift the LORD gave me, to give to you to help draw others to the LORD.) It can start conversations about God, and the LORD will help you by putting His words of truth in your mouth, to help the people you talk to want to know more about Him! He is The Awesome God!

(The poem can be a large bookmark, to be printed and folded vertically.)

My daughter (Victoria was 15) and I did a presentation of "Jesus' Christmas Tree" to two local homeschool groups, a year apart.

The children in the first group were especially fascinated with the fact that they could take an ornament for their tree and pray with their families for the people in a country across the ocean to come to know Jesus.

Some of the little ones wanted to take several ornaments, even though they could not even pronounce the names of those countries! We discussed the fact that Jesus loves everybody everywhere, and that He is the perfect Gift to the world, while we are also gifts to Him.

With the older group in December 2012, we focused on Romans 10:17“So faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the preaching [of the message that came from the lips] of Christ (the Messiah Himself).”

May your faith in Jesus Christ the Messiah be strengthened today! Now, below is the poem you can share in any way you choose, as long as "© 2012 by Tonja K. Taylor" is included on the poem somewhere.

JESUS' CHRISTMAS TREE

© 2012 by Tonja K. Taylor

If Jesus had a Christmas tree,
Each limb would touch eternity--

Its branches full of decoration
For each tribe and race and nation

The names of each engraved upon

An ornament; cherished and known

And crafted into each, and hidden,
Specifics of His missing children;

Each one of their faces
In the farthest of places

Touched by our prayers,
They’ll want Jesus there.

His tree is lush and full and tall,
Living, big enough for all

And everywhere, the graceful light
And shepherds’ staffs, red and white;

Upon the top, a shining star,
Of Israel, jewel of God’s heart;

The symbol with six pointed sides,
Where the King will soon abide;

Streaming from the star above
Cascades of ribbon, crimson love,

Precisely perched, the tiny doves
Seem to sing of those He loves.

God loves His children, every one;
To rescue them, He sent His Son

He sent LORD Jesus to redeem
His children, to restore their dream;

Through His ears we hear them sigh,
Through His eyes we see them cry,

They struggle to survive and cope,
But Jesus is their blessed hope.

For on that ancient Christmas tree--
The tree for all humanity--

He reached throughout eternity
To return them to His family;

To live life more abundantly
In power, peace, and wholly free.

And now He’s made His wishes known:
For us to bring His children home.

It’s up to you and up to me

To help Him with His Christmas tree.
