Do You Have Water?

Blessed and fortunate and happy and spiritually prosperous (in that state in which the born-again child of God enjoys His favor and salvation) are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God), for they shall be completely satisfied!--Matthew 5:6, AMPC

When my elderly widowed mom's pipes froze, the first thing I asked was "Do you have water?"

That's what we all need more than anything--physically and spiritually!

We can survive several days without food, but not water.

Our bodies are comprised mostly of water!

Our brains, not just our bodies, need water. I've learned that, if I encounter a headache, it can often be taken care of by drinking more water.

Also, more caffeine is not necessarily the answer to more alertness or energy; sometimes, we just need more water!

When the water gets shut off, we suddenly realize how much we depend on it; how precious it is--for drinking; for cleansing our bodies, dishes, houses, cars; for boiling and adding to so many foods; even for doing arts and crafts, or at least cleaning up afterwards; for powering electric generators and mills and more; for life!

How much more do we need the Living Water of the Spirit of Life, the LORD Jesus Christ!

You also gave Your good Spirit to instruct them, and withheld not Your manna from them, and gave water for their thirst.--Nehemiah 9:20, AMPC

O God, You are my God, earnestly will I seek You; my inner self thirsts for You, my flesh longs and is faint for You, in a dry and weary land where no water is.--Psalm 63:1

Daily, we need to refresh ourselves with the Living Water of the Word of God. Just like it's been proven that we cannot drink too much water, we can never get too much of the Word of God!

But whoever takes a drink of the water that I will give him shall never, no never, be thirsty any more. But the water that I will give him shall become a spring of water welling up (flowing, bubbling) [continually] within him unto (into, for) eternal life.--John 4:14, AMPC

Most health experts have a big focus on drinking plenty of water every day. Spiritual leaders based on the Bible also encourage us to partake of much Holy Water--the Word of God--every day. It is the refreshing, renewing, cleansing, life-giving Agent that truly saves us from death, just like physical water does all these things for our bodies.

And He [further] said to me, It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I [Myself] will give water without price from the fountain (springs) of the water of Life.--Revelation 21:6, AMPC

Every day, we can ask the LORD to fill us afresh with Himself, with His Spirit. He will always answer this request, for when we pray in His will, we are assured that He hears us (I John 5:14-15). Hallelujah!

Yes, when we receive the LORD Jesus Christ as our Savior and LORD, by believing in Him and what His pure, precious blood did when He died on the cross to pay for our sins, over 2,000 years ago, His Spirit does fill us.

There is also a deeper filling of the Water of LIfe, the Spirit of God, called the baptism of the Holy Spirit (with the evidence of speaking in tongues). I used to scorn and make fun of this, but I'm so glad the LORD kept teaching me His ways, and cleansing my muddy mind with the Living Water of His Word!

Praise God, His Spirit is the same, and His miracles are as mighty today as ever, for He does not change; Jesus Christ the same, yesterday, today, and forever! Hallelujah, amen!

Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is [always] the same, yesterday, today, [yes] and forever (to the ages).--Hebrews 13:8, AMPC

The deeper filling, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, is for service to others; miracles, and a greater anointing that is a mystery, but needed for higher levels of influence and service to the LORD.

However, everyone who belieives on the Name of the LORD will be saved, and the LORD Jesus Christ will come into their hearts by His Spirit, and be with them forever. Glory to God! He loves us so much, He did not want to just walk beside us, as He did with Adam and Eve (although they had perfect communication, because there was no sin to separate them from Him!). He loves us so much He wanted to be as close as possible to us--inside us!

How great and good and gracious is the Creator and LORD of Heaven and earth, our dear Father God!

He who believes in Me [who cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me] as the Scripture has said, From his innermost being shall flow [continuously] springs and rivers of living water.--John 7:38, AMPC

Do you have the Water of Life, the LORD Jesus Christ--the only true Help and Shield and Wealth and Security in the earth?

Every day, through the day, we need to drink physical water.

Every day, through the day, we need to drink the spiritual Water of the Word.

Ask the LORD to refresh you with His Word, His Spirit today. He is faithful. He will!

Water is a living thing
A necessary brook or spring

Ever moving, ever giving, All its fountains lithe and living

Smooth as glass or capped with white
We’re drawn to its refreshing sight

Peaceful as a zephyr breeze
Bringing souls to bended knees

To pray when raging in the storm
Sculpting mountains into form

Cleansing beaches, changing lands And all humanity’s soiled hands

Thrilling seekers with a fountain
Drop by drop eroding mountain

Nourishing a dying man
Oasis in a sun-scorched land

Delighting swimmers, cruisers too
Needed more than daily food

Wells often greatly prized
Wars over those vital to life

Habitat of many creatures
Full of ever changing features

Symbol of a brand new life
Cleansing wounds made from strife

Flowing free to wash and give
New strength for weak ones now to live

Water is a living thing
An ever flowing mountain stream

That represents the Holy One
Who walked upon the sea and won!
