COUNTERFEIT FAITH

It’s becoming increasingly alarming; believers failing to understand what it truly means to be a Christian. A true believer in God through Jesus Christ, our Savior is simple, but with so many false doctrines rapidly spreading throughout all of Christendom, some ‘believers’ are putting their faith in a counterfeit God.

 

 The One True God requires faith in Him through Christ. He requires repentance upon becoming adopted and whenever sin threatens our relationship with Him. And sin becomes a threat when down-played and/or ignored. But if believers are truly sorrowful for transgressing against their Father, they will continue to have an uneasy feeling within themselves until they go to His Throne; pleading that He make them clean through confession and repentance (1John 1:9 & 2Timothy 2:20-26).

 

Nevertheless, there are those who preach that God forgives sin even if not confessed, that Jesus is our ‘Buddy’ and we have no need for repentance. Their music does not align with Scripture and actually is a form of self-worship; presented through fleshy pleasures, like wild dancing, the sheer volume of the music and the seductive beat; singing lyrics featuring only what Jesus will do for them. The lights, the huge crowd and enormous stage are far more like a rock concert than church in presentation. These so-called churches are dangerous, as they present a false Christ and in turn, a false Christianity, because their followers may be under the impression that they are saved, when in fact, they are not.

 

While the music is pumping with lyrics intended to take believers away from the One True God, the deception can be profound. The excitement of the powerful, evil forces mix with the power generated by the emotion in the room and draws believers in with a seduction of their own wills and desires. And this appeal; the draw of entertainment is incredibly difficult for anyone to resist, unless they are already consecrated to the ONE True God, they are in danger, as they may be quite readily misled, for this is a religion of idols, which is paganism.

 

Hillsong is one of the most well-known of these counterfeit church organizations, but they have recently been shut down, as their leader was exposed covering up an employee/s (?) molestation of some of the young people under his teachings, which further proves their evil intent. 

 

And, in addition to this type of group, the ‘prosperity gospel,’ the ‘word of faith movement’ and ‘charismatic’ style churches are among those that push this verifiably counterfeit faith, with pastors like Joel Osteen and Kenneth Copeland leading the way.

 

But, thanks be to God that His Mercy is great. He cares about the heart (1Samuel 16:7). Nonetheless, this is not wise, as people can start out with that right heart and be carried away by the allure of an illegitimate Jesus who does not judge sin; seduced by heart-pounding excitement and other falsity, that is not of GOD.

 

We are forgiven, but only IF we are truly remorseful of our sin. And if we are truly remorseful, we will repent; much like when we are truly sorry for hurting someone; things are not right until we apologize! However, if we ignore repentance; a gross manipulation of our relational standing with God, we do indeed abide in the danger of judgment. (Those who are true believers DO NOT WANT to manipulate God, as they are filled with the Holy Spirit desire to please HIM, as the Holy Spirit abides in those who love our Lord Jesus!)

 

And this is evident, as God’s Word actively encourages believers to consciously engage in the things and the attitudes that please Him and live a life that is blameless:

 

Genesis 6:8, Psalm 69:30-31, Proverbs 11:20 & 15:8, Haggai 1:7, Colossians 3:20, 1Thessalonians 4:1, Galatians 1:10 & 2Corinthians 5:9

 

Furthermore, Jesus is our Example, as we read in John 5:30 & 829

 

Lastly, when we take a closer look at this condition, it is the devil himself who is the mastermind. Moreover, it is reminiscent of the phenomenon of these End Days and Paul’s Prophetic warning on this subject, during a time when his scope of influence has been greatly expanded, (as part of His Perfect Master Plan).

 

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but having itching ears, they shall heap to themselves teachers in accordance with their own lusts. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.”  (1Timothy 4:3,nkjv)
