The Prince of Peace is the Voice of Truth

by Tonja Taylor

Mercy and loving-kindness and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.--Psalm 85:10, AMPC

Having set aside time to be with the LORD for a few days, I woke with this wonderful phrase in my thoughts: "The Prince of Peace is the Voice of Truth."  Amen and amen! His Truth is our peace! Hallelujah!

Behold, [in the future restored Jerusalem] I will lay upon it health and healing, and I will cure them and will reveal to them the abundance of peace (prosperity, security, stability) and truth.--Jeremiah 33:6, AMCP

We love peace, and Truth, although it may be uncomfortable at first, will bring peace, if we let it; let Him!

The LORD actually created us--transformed us from lost, depraved, hell-bound humans, into rebirth as His chosen children, by the Word (The Spirit) of Truth!

And it was of His own [free] will that He gave us birth [as sons] by [His] Word of Truth, so that we should be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures [a sample of what He created to be consecrated to Himself].--James 1:18, AMPC

When we know the Truth (Jesus is the Spirit of Truth!), He makes and keeps us free (John 8:32), and that brings great peace!

Also, when we are free and have peace, joy can rise up in us so much easier, like a fountain!

Light is sown for the [uncompromisingly] righteous and strewn along their pathway, and joy for the upright in heart [the irrepressible joy which comes from consciousness of His favor and protection].--Psalm 97:11, AMPC

So the light (revelation) of the truth of God and the joy from knowing He is good and always watching out for us and helping us brings peace! Hallelujah!

To be ironic, "peace" is what most people are fighting to obtain.

There are times when we must choose to be joyful, and most of us have more peace and joy, are more relaxed, when we yield--allow ourselves--to celebrate, as the LORD wants us to.

Here's more wonderful truth: God is a positive God, and loves to see us His kids, relax and have peace and joy!

Thus says the Lord of hosts: The fast of the fourth month and the fast of the fifth, the fast of the seventh and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah times of joy and gladness and cheerful, appointed seasons; therefore [in order that this may happen to you, as the condition of fulfilling the promise] love truth and peace.—Zech 8:19

Peace and joy are fruits of the Holy Spirit: 22 But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy  (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness,--Galatians 5:22.

Truth is not a fruit of the Spirit. The Spirit of God, the LORD Jesus living in our hearts (once we have repented of our sins and asked Him to be our Savior and LORD!) is the Truth! Hallelujah!

But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future].--John 16:13, AMPC

Peace is a fruit of righteousness; being right with God by Covenant (believing in Christ Jesus, and having repented of sin and received Him as Savior and LORD), and the LORD can continually teach us more truth, and help us live it before and teach it to others, which is why we are on the planet!

The law of truth was in [Levi’s] mouth, and unrighteousness was not found in his lips; he walked with Me in peace and uprightness and turned many away from iniquity.—Malachi 2:6, AMPC

The LORD wants us to know more and more deeply the wonderful truth of His all-encompassing, unchanging, eternal Love for us! When we choose to believe that (and He has to help us know and believe!); when we know the truth of the love and delight of our faithful Father in us, His precious kids, then we have an abundance of peace!

When we have an abundance of peace because we know the Truth of God's Love, then we exhibit and share that peace with others. Hallelujah!

Grace (spiritual blessing), mercy, and [soul] peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ (the Messiah), the Father’s Son, in all sincerity (truth) and love.—2 John 1:3, AMP
