You Don't Have to Work for Your Inheritance!

by Tonja Taylor

5 Listen, my beloved brethren: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and in their position as believers and to inherit the kingdom which He has promised to those who love Him?--James 2:5, AMPC

A earthly royal heir doesn't have to work to earn their position, and the possessions and privileges that go with it; they simply inherit it. How much more is that true for us in the Kingdom of God!

A few years ago, my mother became a widow, and required people to help her during the day. She hired various helpers, and they had quite a bit of freedom to make decisions working for her.

However, one day I visited while one of them was there. As I walked in, I realized more of the meaning of the difference between a "son" and a "servant," and this helped me understand more deeply my rights as royal heir of the Most High God, my Father.

A servant may have freedom to make certain decisions to benefit the employer, or even to act on behalf of that employer. The servant may have certain other privileges, and even a very warm and lasting relationship with the employer, even when not working for him or her.

However, in a stable, healthy relationship, a son (or daughter) has covenant rights in the relationship with the parent, that the servant most likely will never have--from being able to walk in at any time and have any of the food in the fridge or cabinets, to utilizing the machines and tools in the house, to being bequeathed with the finances and personal properties and more when the parent dies.

How much more is that true when we are heirs of the Most High God, Jehovah, Yahweh--the Covenant God? Hallelujah!

12 Who is the man who reverently fears and worships the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way that he should choose. 13 He himself shall dwell at ease, and his offspring shall inherit the land. 14 The secret [of the sweet, satisfying companionship] of the Lord have they who fear (revere and worship) Him, and He will show them His covenant and reveal to them its [deep, inner] meaning.---Psalm 25:12-14, AMPC

This Psalm ministers to me on many levels! The LORD Jesus died so we, the Covenant Heirs who believe in Him and repent and receive Him as Savior and LORD, can enjoy all the blessings and benefits; power, possessions, and other privileges that His blood has provided!

I am learning this truth more deeply, by His help, and getting more excited every day!

How great and good is our awesome God! How faithful and true; how generous and gracious, merciful and kind, is our darling Daddy God, Who the Holy One of Israel, Who has so astoundingly opened up the Covenant to us, non-Jewish people?

Glory glory hallelujah!

Who are we?

But we are precious to Him Who made us!

He is the perfect Parent, and He wants us to know and enjoy this abundant life (Zoe; "life as God has it) to the fullest!

10 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and  enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).--John 10:10, AMPC

We have the amazing honor and privilege to enjoy the Zoe life of God that we inherit as His beloved children! Hallelujah!

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.--I Peter 2:9, AMPC

By choosing to believe and live this wonderful inheritance that our awesome God has provided, we  will help many others want to know this gloriously good God, Who loved us all so much He sacrificed His One and only Son, that we could all be reconciled to Him, for eternity!

But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us.--Romans 5:8, AMPC

By the way, that is the reason that we Believers are still on the planet--to take as many as possible with us, for King Jesus is returning very soon to get us, His own, and take us out of this demented world system!

Behold, I am coming soon, and I shall bring My wages and rewards with Me, to repay and render to each one just what his own actions and his own work merit.--Revelation 22:12, AMPC

He will take us to live forever with Him and the Father and the Holy Spirit (Who are One), in the glorious, victorious Kingdom of Light, where there is nothing bad, only beauty and freedom and good!

9 They shall not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.---Isaiah 11:9

Hallelujah! We who truly believe in the LORD Jesus Christ are His royal heirs! We win!
