I Have an Open Marriage

For the ways of man are directly before the eyes of the Lord, and He [Who would have us live soberly, chastely, and godly] carefully weighs all man’s goings.--Proverbs 5:21, AMPC

First, let me say that I will never agree with what the world calls an "open marriage."  

Neither will the LORD our God ever agree with it!

Moving on, I believe the LORD gave me this provocative title to draw you to this article, to help you understand that, especially in these Last Days, the LORD may do for you what He is doing for me--break you out of boxes!

I'm talking about boxes--limits--on our thinking!

We are created to be free, and where the Spirit of the LORD is, there is freedom. 

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (emancipation from bondage, freedom).--2 Corinthians 3:17, AMPC

Yes, I have an "open marriage"--open to loving God in our unique ways; open to supporting each other in our unique callings; even open to going to our unique churches! 

He has graciously been breaking me out of limits on my thinking--"boxes"--and I know that my forever-faithful Daddy God always works good out of evil (Genesis 50:20, Romans 8:28). I trust Him. Hallelujah!

So, through the years, He's shown me many times that my thinking was not up to His, and sometimes the breaking of the "box" would be unsettling, and even a little frightening or otherwise disturbing. However, in the end, I was always glad, for the One Who gives me every breath always and forever has only my best interest in mind. 

I am, after all, His favorite daughter! (And you can claim that for yourself, or as His fave son!)

May grace (God’s favor) and peace (which is perfect well-being, all necessary good, all spiritual prosperity, and freedom from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts) be multiplied to you in [the full, personal, precise, and correct] knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.--2 Peter 1:2, AMPC

I'm even going to a different church than my husband now and we--to the amazement of some other couples, especially those older than us (and we are in our late 50s!)--are in complete agreement about it! Our marriage is stronger than ever, praise the LORD!

I am excited to see what else is coming, and I want all God has for me!

If you want to experience more freedom, ask the LORD to help you be open to all He wants to do. He will be with you, help you, and free you!
