Communion First Thing!

by Tonja Taylor
4/18/2023 / Christian Living

As for me, I will continue beholding Your face in righteousness (rightness, justice, and right standing with You); I shall be fully satisfied, when I awake [to find myself] beholding Your form [and having sweet  communion with You].--Psalm 17:15, AMPC

Upon waking this morning, the LORD revealed to me that I could take Communion daily, first thing, and then I wouldn't be tempted to skip it, and my digestion wouldn't keep me up if I did it late at night. Taking Communion daily is a privilege we have as kings and priests of the Most High God!

I know that Jesus took Communion with His disciples at the Last Supper, the night He was betrayed in the garden. (Wow, as I typed that sentence, it just hit me that that's where the LORD was first betrayed by Adam and Eve, in the Garden of Eden!). However, I seemed to remember other verses about Communion, and just did a search in a Bible app.

Then, I saw Psalm 17:15, where King David talks about awaking to behold the LORD and have sweet communion (fellowship) with Him! Amen!

God is the coolest, and the Holy Spirit always leads us in right paths. He is the Master of precision timing and the ordering of our steps!

In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.--Proverbs 3:6, AMPC

It is a privilege to take Communion daily, and as children of the Most High, whom He has made kings and priests, we have that honor and privilege. We remember the LORD's death for us until He comes.

For we [no matter how] numerous we are, are one body, because we all partake of the one Bread [the One Whom the communion bread represents].--I Corinthians 10:17, AMPC

When I take Communion for myself (and often, for others at the same time), I usually follow a basic pattern. I yield to the Holy Spirit, though, and sometimes it's a bit different; but always, forever, thankful and joyful!

First, I thank the LORD that, by the stripes that wounded Jesus, we are healed and made whole--in every realm of life, not just our bodies! Then I break the cracker (or tear the small piece of bread), and remember the broken body of Christ, which He allowed on purpose, so that our bodies could be healed and made whole, amen!

If I feel the need to ask Him to forgive me for anything, I do. He's already forgiven us, praise the LORD, but when we acknowledge it and ask Him to forgive us, it cleanses our hearts and souls! Hallelujah!

Then, I take the cup--usually 100% grapefruit juice, or grape juice (but never alcoholic! As the LORD told one minister, His blood was NOT fermented! Amen!)--and raise it up and rejoice in the LORD and how He has given us victory; how He is our Revelation, Resurrection, and Restoration. Amen and amen!

Praise the LORD, He went to the grave for us by the cross, destroying the sin debt, and our old sinful lives, but He rose again, and He lives forever, to help us live the victorious Zoe life (John 10:10) in Him! Hallelujah!

Yet I am writing you a new commandment, which is true (is realized) in Him and in you, because the darkness (moral blindness) is clearing away and the true Light (the revelation of God in Christ) is already shining.--I John 2:8, AMPC

Jesus said to her, I am [Myself] the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on) Me, although he may die, yet he shall live;--John 11:25, AMPC

It was God [personally present] in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with Himself, not counting up and holding against [men] their trespasses [but cancelling them], and committing to us the message of reconciliation (of the restoration to favor).--2 Corinthians 5:19, AMPC

So give yourself permission to take Communion, and daily, and you will be drawn closer to Him. He will be honored, and can help you become more sensitive to His Spirit; more conscious that He is with you and for you always!

What then shall we say to [all] this? If God is for us, who [can be] against us? [Who can be our foe, if God is on our side?]--Romans 8:31, AMPC
