Jesus is the Gentle Lover of Our Souls

by Tonja Taylor
5/01/2023 / Salvation

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.--Deut. 6:5

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.--Mark 12:30, AMPC

Yes, in both the Old and New Testaments, we are commanded to love the LORD with all of our triune (spirit/heart; soul /mind, will, emotions; and body/physical might).

And even better, Jesus is the ultimate Lover of our souls!

How can that be?

Because (to start yet another sentence with a conjunction), even when we were Christ's enemies, He first loved us.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners,  Christ died for us.---Romans 5:8, KJV

God loves us--anyway; no matter what.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.--John 3:16, KJV

He created us to lavish His love upon us; so we could become His precious kiddos, and joint-heirs with His first perfect Son, Jesus Christ the LORD!

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:--John 1:12, KJV

Wow!

Jehovah is the ultimate loving, adoptive Parent!

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.--2 Peter 3:9, KJV

He is very gentle, patient, kind, and understanding--much unlike too many people, but He never changes in His love toward us!

The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.--Jeremiah 31:3, KJV

If you don't know Him, just call on Him today, for all who call upon the name of the LORD will be saved (from hell, and for Heaven, and a wonderful life on earth with Him now!)--Romans 10:13.  Ask Him to forgive you and cleanse you of your sin by His pure blood shed on the cross for you, over 2,000 years ago. He will! You will become God's child, Jesus's sibling, and a joint-heir with Christ Jesus! You will receive a Heavenly seat and a robe of righteousness, and will be able to have a deep relationship with the One Who created you and gives you every breath! Hallelujah!
