Canadian Sunset

A young land urges
wealth
minerals, water power
and oil wells

expansive.

And crowding
horizon's view
coniferous silhouettes

wall to wall sun a
slit of golden.

Then shadows
blanket, caressing
tired earth

now sleeping.
