Open Your Heart
by Sylvia Green Chatman
6/10/2008 / Poetry

If you listen carefully,
You can hear God call your name.
He is seeking to save you;
Your soul, Jesus wants to claim.

If you will take a close look,
You will see His arms stretched wide.
He is reaching out to you
'Cause it's for you that He died.

God wants to give you His joy
And fill your heart with His love.
He wants to give you His peace—
Send you blessings from above.

He says, "Come home my dear child.
Weary one, come and take rest.
If you will abide in me,
You will be forever blest."

Do not ignore His tender mercies;
Open your heart—let Him in.
Receive you His gift of life,
And He will pardon your sin.
