Fredas Foibles - Thinking Aloud

I feel like writing about different things today, not related, hence the name "Thinking Aloud".

I never had children, so it was interesting to me when Linda and I started talking about babies and small children having ear aches. Linda, who had three children and is presently helping raise a grandson, told me years ago her doctor told her, when her sons were small, never to put them to bed with a bottle in their mouth. The reason to not do this the infant continues to suck after it goes to sleep and the milk goes down his eustachian tube causing an earache. She did as the doctor said and none of her three boys ever had an earache.

The fact that one person, an agnostic, was able to take prayer out of public school has always irritated me no end. You would have thought our great big government could have stopped that from happening if they had wanted to, but I suppose the lawmakers were more interested in getting votes than they were remembering this country was founded on God's principles.

The politicians and lawmakers are no different today, but 17% of the people are telling us, the majority 83% of the people, what we can not do and those in control, our government and politicians, are either permitting or ignoring what these idiots are doing.

Case in point. Did you know there is no mention of God in our post offices? Where our mail was always identified by some reference to God, it is no more. This, in my mind, is going too far.

The postal department, which is run by the U.S. Government, doesn't mind we have to pay big bucks to use their services [I thought monopolies were outlawed] but by the same token they can tell us not to use God in our postal transactions.

Our household is trying to do our part. We don't mail anything from our homes without a IN GOD WE TRUST' sticker which we made on the computer stuck on it on the front. You will notice if you ever get an email from me there is IN GOD WE TRUST as part of my signature. I have been closing all my articles for years "Remember, God loves you and so do I". Now I am prefacing it with IN GOD WE TRUST.

I was raised in a Christian home, I am a Christian, and everybody I do business with are either Christian or Jewish, and I live with a Christian family, and anybody who doesn't like that about me is not welcome to try to change me. I am 75 years young, and God has been kind to me all my life, and I'm not about to incur His wrath at this late date.

Meanwhile, have a nice summer. Maybe the high gas prices may bring the American family closer and that will be a good thing.

Reminds me the first time I flew. It was in February the first time, and the weather was really bad in Pittsburgh [PA] when Rollie and I embarked. The plane leveled out 35,000 feet, and the sky was really blue and beautiful. Ever since when the weather is bad down here, the closer you get to heaven there's a blue sky up there and I have not been scared to fly since that initial flight.

IN GOD WE TRUST. Remember, God loves you and so do I.
