Hello everyone. I just received the following communication (2008) and I thought you all would like to see it. It may help us realize just what it is we're praying about here. These are real people we're praying for ( I know you all knew that)... But, meet "Akbar". He lives in Azerbaijan, which is a country that borders Iran:

"Good morning Matt Thompson. Happy Independence Day!

My time for internet use arrives maybe two or three times every month. My friend on the net told me of your profile (http://www.esnips.com/user/matt-melva) for studying. I have the love of Christ residing in me but I can not own a Holy Bible. To own One and to love the Christ it is not free from danger in my country.

When I come to the internet, I spend most of my time reading in www.Biblegateway.com . All the words on the page spoken by Jesus makes my blood burn inside me. Love. I commit the words to memory and then I can bring them with me in a way that no man can see. I have them inside as my possession. When I am worn I read them in my mind. They are my prayers. I thirsted for such a long time without the Hope, and then the words of Jesus, they are as cold water to my own soul.

My country is almost completely Muslim who practice Islam. There are some Christians, but they do not have the Truth. These are orthadox people hiding inside the name "Christian". They would not know Jesus from a hole in the sand. To live in this country gets worse every day. While it gets better for Muslims, it is worse for anyone else. I am leaving my home country soon. I have no family here to miss and friends can be made anew.

Today? I memorize the Gospel, John 14:15-21. It makes me want to cry. How beautiful the words of Jesus, always comforting, always so simple.

My two hours for the internet is one hour gone. I wish you wellness Matt. I will now go to read in His words. When my next internet use arrives, maybe I will not be living here anymore. But when I arrive in a new home, I can find you again in this profile.

I tell ya what ya'll... I have bawled over this like a baby. I find it extraordinary that someone like this, that literally gives up everything for Jesus, treasures Jesus above and beyond anything in this world including his life, takes the time to wish "me" a "Happy Independence Day"... How incredible.

But you know what else? Akbar, even where he is, is very aware of our celebration today! Folks? I wonder if we realize just what a beacon America really is? Do we understand that America is the entire worlds last hope for freedom? Long ago the pilgrims came to this continent seeking "freedom of religion"... Now look at Akbar! Look at the tens of thousands of people just like him! No, America can't take all the credit, for none of this (America) would have come to pass had it not been for Jesus. But America still stands... She is still here... As of today She still fights for the freedom of PEOPLE, regardless of where they are.

Folks? Let's pray for Akbar. Let's pray for America because there are principalities in high places that truly want to snuff Her light out to the world! Let's prays for all our brothers here and gone that work in the Service of our Lord Jesus and man to see that America is protected and that people such as Akbar are delivered! I can tell you my MBG family, there is a much greater effort toward all these things than you could possibly imagine.

God bless our Brothers and sisters in the service of God and man. God bless Akbar with a speedy freedom. God bless all people just like him no matter their country. And please my family, please pray that once again, God Bless America!
