Dear Father,

We praise you that your word is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword. We invite you to penetrate our lives with your word, dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; judging the thoughts and attitudes of our hearts. (Hebrews 4:12)

Bless us because we read, hear, and take to heart your words, because the time is near. (Revelation 1:3)

May we never be ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes. (Romans 1:16)

Enable us to obey your commands so they will be a light for our ways. May we heed your corrections of discipline, because they are the way to life. (Proverbs 6:23) Cause your word to be a lamp to our feet and a light for our path. (Psalm 119:105)

May we not let the Book of the Law depart from our mouths. May we meditate on it day and night, so that we may be careful to do everything written in it. Then we will be prosperous and successful. (Joshua 1:8)

May we fix your words in our hearts and minds, tie them as symbols on our hands, and bind them on our foreheads. (Deuteronomy 11:18)
