'Twas the night before the attack, and all through the states,
People were doing their business, and getting their rebates.
The stock market was rising, (there wasn't a care);
Trusting that profits would give all, their fair share.

In the morning, the workers were out of their beds,
While visions of salaries danced in their heads.
And mamma was shopping, and listening to rap,
When she was finished, she'd go home to take a nap.

When all of a sudden, there arose such a clatter,
Smoke rising from the trade towers, was the matter!
Away to the windows, people flew like a flash;
And they saw the trade towers, turning to ash!

The blaze in the sky, made such an eerie glow,
And the twin towers fell on objects below!
When what to all wondering eyes should appear;
There were firemen, rushing on the scene with no fear!

They jumped from their trucks, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment, each was armed with a pick!
More rapid than eagles, all the firemen came,
And searched to find others, not knowing their name!

Now George, now Peter, now Bill, Claude and Dixon
Were facing the heat, and even all the cave-ins!
Through the smoldering rubble, some would fall;
But they never faltered, and honored their call.

As dry leaves that burn, the hot steel melted away.
America would always, remember this day!
Evil men had taken over planes that they flew
Into the towers, killing passengers, and crew.

And then, in a twinkling, the radios blared!
President Bush was speaking, and not even scared.
He proclaimed to all, that this wouldn't just pass
Whoever was behind this would never last!

Our flag would keep waving, over our land,
Retaliation was already being planned.
We knew that our problem was Afghanistan,
The terrorists were members of Taliban.

The leader was soon hiding in caves in his place,
America was determined to take over his space!
As the bombs of America crashed all around,
Bin Laden and followers, hid under the ground.

As American bombs fell, they cringed with great fear;
But they were so hard, that they didn't shed a tear!
They prayed to Allah, God's Word, they'd not heeded,
Never being told, Jesus Christ was Who they needed!

The trouble we've had is a result of our sin,
For Jesus commanded us, the lost ones to win,
We've all been complacent, and let sin have sway;
We've allowed God's principles to be outlawed today.

It's time that we join in the Spiritual fight,
Before all of our days are as dark as night.
We need to pray, and live as God has planned;
That's the only way that God will save our land!

An elderly Christian who has learned to depend upon the Lord. He is sufficient to meet our needs in any circumstance of life. I only want to honor Him
