A Christmas Gift For You
by Ann Elaine Broughton
12/17/2008 / Poetry
Christmas means so much more
Than presents bought at the store.
It's time to remember Jesus' birth
So much more than a present's worth.
The angels shouted and sang that day
Because Jesus in that manger lay
A Savior born to save us all
A little babe in a manger stall.
As a grown man He spoke of love
And prayed often to His father above.
Healing the sick, the poor He did feed,
Always willing to do a good deed.
Jesus came to save the lost.
And His life it would cost.
He came to give us eternal life
Ending all our sorrows and strife.
This Christmas may you open your heart
To His love which will never depart
He will fill you with His love
A gift He gives from Heaven above.
My husband and I have been in the ministry in one form or another for 37 years. I have had several poems published in the local newspaper. I write devotionals for my co-workers and friends. I own this article and have full rights.
