Die Empty!

by Chris Umeweni

No one was born into this world by mistake or accident. No matter whether the parents of the baby named it an unwanted child. In the sight of God, no baby is unwanted or illegal. Right from the fetus stage of the baby, God has already mapped it out for a purpose. It's little wonder God spoke to Jeremiah saying, "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee and ordained thee a prophet unto the nations" (Jeremiah 1:5).

This is one major reason one should not consciously abort a child, for God is interested in every fetus. He has a mission and purpose for every single baby born into the world.

This is to say the way one looks, talks or acts was actually given to him or her by God for a fulfillment of purpose on earth. No one is empty. God has endowed various gifts and talents to each one for fulfillment of purpose here on earth. 1Peter 4:10 (TEV) says, "Each one, as a good manager of God's different gifts, must use for the good of others the special gift he has received from God."

Therefore, everyone is meant to use the various gifts endowed by God for the good of his or her generation. Going against this, many have turned their gifts and abilities for selfish purposes, leaving their generation to suffer thereby.

Everyone has a role to play with their various gifts either in their family, society or nation but the world as a whole.

Each moment we live, our aim should be to find our individual gifts, develop them and offload it to our generation because this world is not our true home. Therefore we shouldn't be so selfish as to hold back any gift like an unbeliever.

Oh! How the world waits for the manifestation of your gifts (Romans 8:19). Many would continue in sin, weep, get depressed, broken-hearted or perhaps die if you fail to offload your gifts.

How wonderful it would be if on our deathbeds we could say to God these exact words of Jesus, "I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do" (John 17:4). Jesus gave out all that was within Him till He could say, "It is finished" (John 19:30).

Beloved, it is my prayer that we get so close to God as to be able to discover each gift and ability God has freely deposited in us and use it selflessly for the good of our generation while we live; for the graves are filled with unused gifts.
