Blessings and Warnings
by Jessica Gerald
1/01/2007 / Prayers

Dear Father,

Keep us from walking in the counsel of the wicked, standing in the way of sinners, or sitting in the seat of mockers. Bless us because of this. (Psalm 1:1)

May our delight be in the law of the Lord, and help us to meditate on your word day and night. Make us like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding fruit in season and not withering. May we prosper in whatever we do. (Psalm 1:2,3)

Remind us that the wicked are like chaff that the wind blows away. They will not stand in the judgement, nor will sinners be in the assembly of the righteous. (Psalm 1:4,5)

Thank you for your promise to watch over the way of the righteous. May we heed the warning that the way of the wicked will perish. (Psalm 1:6)

In the name of Jesus we pray,
Amen
