Amazing Grace ( Musical)

Amazing Grace ( Musical)
Pete: Hi John,
John: Hi Pete, good to see you again after a long while
Pete: When are you going back to Africa?
John: What for?
Pete: What do you mean, what for? Are you not a slave dealer? How is the slave trade?
I understand you're making big bucks in that slave business, isn't it?
John: Man, I have given up that shameful trade!
Pete: What?! You don't mean it! How can you give up such a lucrative business?
John: Yes, Pete, that may come as a surprise, but slavery is a thing of the past for me. God (Pete shudders, staggers, in shock) has opened my eyes to see that it was an evil trade. So I stopped. Besides, I am now born again, a New Creature in Christ, my sins are forgiven, am a child of God, on my way to heaven.
Pete: Stop! What are you telling me, John? You mean you have gone religious?
John: Pete, Jesus loves you, cares for you and wants save you. I have seen the light, you too can.
Pete: Which light? I think you have seen darkness. Go away from me! Away with religion!
John: You see, in spite of my wickedness, Jesus, forgave me of my sins and restored me. He can do the same for you. (Pete gradually withdraws as John moves closer to him) What an amazing grace! And I wrote this song to praise, worship, thank and glorify Him.
His grace is so amazing; O how sweet the sound of salvation to one who was in condemnation. The old has gone and the NEW has come. I was once lost but now am found, crippled like the man at the Gate Beautiful miraculously healed, was blind like Bartimaeus, but now I see. One, who was deceived, deluded, depraved, dejected, defrauded, depressed, doomed like the prodigal, is now accepted, acquitted, atoned for and celebrated by my Father in heaven. O what an Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound! Dead in trespasses and sin he raised me up and seated me with Himself in heavenly places. O what an amazing grace. Glory be to God!
Yes, the grace of God has appeared, teaching us to say, 'No'! to unrighteousness. By grace are we saved through faith, not of works lest any one should boast. The grace of God is sufficient and super- abundantly efficient for the deficient! Alleluia!

Speak & clap CH:
Amazing Grace,
How sweet the sound
I was once lost but now am found
Was blind but now I see
X2
Sing Ch x2
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.

'T was grace that taught my heart to fear;
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed
Ch

Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come;
'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.
Ch

When we've been there ten thousand years,
Bright shinning as the sun,
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we'd first begun
Ch (I was once lost) ( leader)

I was once lost but now am found
Was blind but now I see
(Repeated many times to end)
(Just drums and clap and side to side mvt) xxxx

Think of the prodigal son's euphoria for his father's reception and blind Bartimaeus ecstasy for receiving his sight.
