Today Is The Day For Change
by Jeff Todd

Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost." - Luke 19: 9, 10

I find it amazing how when a person surrenders their life to the Lord, not only does this create a change in that person, but it begins affecting others around them. It's like people are drawn to it and they become convicted that they need this change in their life as well.

The day my son got saved a few years ago was an awesome experience for me. I remember seeing a hopeless child at the end of his rope drastically change into someone on fire for the Lord. But, it didn't stop with him. Our family became convicted of our lifestyle as well. We weren't living right and knew we needed Jesus, too. My wife and I rededicated our lives back to Him and my daughter got saved a few months later.

It didn't stop here either. Some of our relatives began going back to church and getting involved with ministry and began refocusing on what the Lord wanted them to do. Even some of our close friends began making drastic changes in their lives.

The change didn't stop. As everyone received this new fire for Jesus, they began reaching out to people they haven't spoke to in a long time. Some even reached out to people they didn't know. Lives were being touched in the process. I don't think my son knew that his decision that day to let Jesus become his Lord and Savior would make that big of impact on the people around him. I didn't know either.

But, that's how it all works. It's like the ripple effect in water. It expands outward and it touches people. Some may accept the change while others may not. But, know that our decision not only affects us but to those around us.

You may have a conviction on you right now of whether to accept Jesus into your heart. It has been a nagging question that has been staying on your mind for a while now. What are you going to do with it? Look around you at the people you are in contact with on a daily basis. Look at your children, your spouse, your friends and family. Don't they deserve to know about Jesus, too? What if the decision you make affected them, too? I mean, they will eventually hear the Gospel and know about the free gift of salvation that Jesus gives. But, what if they were meant to hear it todaythrough you.

Just something to think about. Decide wisely.

God bless you!
