by Emenike Iwuala The rains has halted And the wetness away with it Leafs on trees turned brown So is the shrub, brown with it All of vegetation gets this brown feel with it The wind with a little less moisture Caresses the skin with its gentle force The soil returns most moisture to the skies Thereby tinting itself brown Turbulent waters now retained within their banks Floods gone with it Xmass in the tropics Brown, its favorite color Almost like the unique color of our skin Brown Xmass The feeling of festivity in the air Can't help but feel this brown feel of Xmass in the air This feeling of love in the air A season to show love, share love, and be loved Share love this Xmass Masquerades in beautiful brown costumes displaying our own version of Santa It's such a lovely setting Our Xmass, The browner, the better Wherever you may be Brown Xmass in Umunakara Brown Xmass in Enugu Brown Xmass in Lagos Brown Xmass in Abuja Brown Xmass in Accra Towards the end of each Xmass I always wish I could get Another feel Another breath Another chance Another of my dearly cherished Brown Xmass.
