How Can I Help You?
by PamFord Davis

How do you feel when some one stands around waiting; and you do not know what they need? Perhaps you are absorbed in a project or concentrating on a book or television program. You feel their presence and acknowledge them, expecting them to communicate with you. They stand speechless and you begin to feel annoyed.

Is the Lord waiting for us to share our deepest needs? He wants us to be specific in prayer requests for others as well as personal desires. Blind Bartimaeus cried out for mercy from Jesus. (Mark 10:46-48) He approached Jesus and heard these words. "So Jesus answered and said to him, What do you want me to do for you? The blind man said to Him, Rabboni, that I may receive my sight. Then Jesus said to him, Go your way; your faith has made you well. And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road (Mark 10:51-52 NKJ)." Jesus knew very well Bartimaeus needed to receive healing of his blindness. He waited until the request was voiced in faith.
