Silhouettes
by PamFord Davis

Did your teacher make a silhouette of you as a child? It makes a meaningful gift for Mother's Day that will be treasured for years. They are not only for children. Our home included a small framed silhouette of my Mom, which later became a keepsake to one of her five children. Shadows are traced and we view only the outlines of the person it represents. Our imagination or memory is used to fill in details of importance.

Rituals of worship are silhouettes on the shade of redemption. "Don't let anyone tell you what you must eat or drink. Don't let them say that you must celebrate the New Moon festival, the Sabbath, or any other festival. These things are only a shadow of what was to come. But Christ is real (Colossians 2:16-17 CEV)." When we place our faith in trust in Him alone, His glory is revealed. The Holy Spirit allows us to see Jesus through the truth of His word. Stand in His shadow and find rest.
