Cold, Cold Heart
by PamFord Davis We do not need to use a thermometer to verify the temperature of some people in our midst. They give us the cold shoulder, revealing their cold, cold hearts. It is not always easy to admit to ourselves that we are also found wanting. Personal problems consume our time and attention, and we fail to show the love and warmth of Christ within. Spiritual leaders are flesh and blood and need our love and encouragement. "Friends in Corinth, we are telling the truth when we say that there is room in our hearts for you. We are not holding back on our love for you, but you are holding back on your love for us. I speak to you as I would speak to my own children. Please make room in your hearts for us (2 Corinthians 6:11-13 CEV)." The Holy Spirit fills seekers and melts cold, cold hearts.
