Dear Hearts And Gentle People
by PamFord Davis

Compassion is a traded commodity, not in the stock market, but in our homes, places of employment and communities. When shared with one another, we all benefit and there is always a surplus to invest.

Society is often harsh and cruel, cold or indifferent. We remember those special people who meet our deepest needs with gentleness and understanding. I have been on the receiving end following the death of family members. Church family prepared meals for the day of the funerals and many personally delivered prepared foods to the home.

"But respect Christ as the holy Lord in your hearts.' Always be ready to answer everyone who asks you to explain about the hope you have. But answer in a gentle way and with respect. Always feel that you are doing right. Then, those who speak evil of your good life in Christ will be made ashamed (1 Peter 3:15-16 NCV)." Hearts filled with God's love demonstrate gentleness through acts of kindness.
