Ebony and Ivory

Young boys empty their treasures from pockets and proudly display shiny pebbles, marbles, trading cards or pocket change. Adults' varied opinions of art treasures surface when visiting art museums. One might pay any price to take a piece of modern art for his own. Others would not want it brought in their house! The rich and famous have the financial ability to purchase and collect treasures from around the world. History researchers reveal much about Solomon's wealth. The Bible says, "Then the king made a great throne inlaid with ivory and overlaid with fine gold (1 Kings 10:18 NIV)." His imports were very impressive. "The king had a fleet of trading ships at sea along with the ships of Hiram. Once every three years it returned, carrying gold, silver and ivory, and apes and baboons (I Kings 10:22 NIV)." I possess great treasure; the Bible is a storehouse of wisdom and priceless promises.
