The little girl in a nursery rhyme is described as a split personality. She at times acted very good, but when bad, she was horrid. It sounds like she experienced the terrible twos', and posed a big challenge for mommy and daddy. Bad behavior should not be rewarded; her parents would lovingly discipline and instill solid teaching. As she grew, she would learn the difference between right and wrong.

We receive lifelong training and still have much to learn. "Stop being mean, bad-tempered and angry. Quarreling, harsh words, and dislike of others should have no place in your lives. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God has forgiven you because you belong to Christ (Ephesians 4:31-32 The Book/ Living Bible)." Paul's fatherly advice sounds very much like that given from adults to quarreling siblings. Our heavenly Father expects me to behave as a mature adult; sometimes I need his firm correction.
