trACker number342 - With Sheer Delight

There was a knock at my door. "Come in," I said looking up from my computer screen. One of the church ladies who was preparing for a function later in that evening, stood at the door with outstretched arm. In her hand was a box of Turkish Delight. "For me?" I quizzed. "Yes," she replied. "Wow, thanks. How did you know that I love Turkish delight?" A short time later, dare I say, there were but a few pieces of the fragrant, succulent delicacy left. "Delight" is a word that has many charming synonyms, including the words "enchantment", "pleasure", "happiness" and "amusement", but the one I enjoy the most is the word, "glee". This word conjures up an image in my mind of a young child waking up early on Christmas morning. Running joyfully into the living room he proceeds to dance around a gift laden Christmas tree, squealing with glee. God's word is packed with delightful phrases. When I searched for variants of the word "delight", using my computer software version of the NIV Bible it returned no less than 107 incidents. Here are a few: Psalm 35:9, "Then my soul will rejoice in the LORD and delight in his salvation;" Psalm 37:4, "Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart," and 2 Corinthians 12:10, "That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." However, what struck me most about the use of the word "delight" in the Bible was the scripture that reads, "If the LORD delights in a man's way, he makes his steps firm though he stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand," (Psalm 37:23-24,) God-tracking is all about delighting in the Lord our God through prayer, worship and his word. Just like the merriment of a little child on Christmas morning, or the sheer satisfaction of tucking into a box of Turkish Delight, we ought to take delight in the presence and the word of our God, with glee. I discovered through Hebrews 11:6 that, although I benefit from faith, faith is for the Lord's pleasure. Faith takes God at his word. Faith prays without ceasing. Faith never looks back. Faith fulfils desire, because faith delights in the Lord. Faith unwraps every promise of God with sheer delight. God-tracking is a delightful process. Make My Steps Firm PSALM 37:23 If the LORD delights in a man's way, he makes his steps firm; Pray "O Father God, it is a delight for me to be known by you and to know your grace. O my Lord, I want to delight in you more and more. I desire to delight in your word, the fellowship of your Holy Spirit and the fellowship of the saints of God. Forgive me for any time that I may have grieved you; I desire that you delight in my ways. Lord, help me to live by faith. Help me to face hardship with delight so that my strength my lie in your outstretched arm. You, O Lord, are my source of hope, strength and delight. Thank you that you make my steps firm. Amen." >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Why not recommend trACker to someone?
