Personal Introduction
by PamFord Davis "Let me introduce myself" Confidently, a newcomer approaches strangers and begins to reveal information about family line, place of birth, education and job experience plus what led to current roles in the new locale. It is not easy for a new kid on the block to gain the confidence of those set in their ways. Jesus introduced himself. "Then beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He interpreted for them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures (Luke 24:27 HCS)." I can only begin to imagine what it must have been like to be one of those men having unexpected teaching under the Son of God. He backed up His claims of deity with texts of scripture and stirred dying embers of faith into fires of conviction. "So they said to each other, 'Weren't our hearts ablaze within us while He was talking with us on the road and explaining the Scriptures to us (Luke 24:32 HCS)?" Jesus had clearly given proof of His identity as the suffering Messiah, the Resurrection and the Life. He continues to walk amongst us, extends His hand, opens scriptures and with the voice of authority speaks "Let me introduce myself."
