English, Irish, French and Dutch
by PamFord Davis The elementary school teacher posed a question to members of my class. Did we know where our ancestors came from? New York State was a melting pot and it was easy to see by differences in hair color, shapes of noses and shades of skin tone. I went home and asked my mother and she quickly tagged me as "English, Irish, French and Dutch." Like a favorite family recipe with a blend of various spices, our family line was a mixture of four distinct nationalities. God reveals to us, his children, our bloodlines. "Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God-children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God (John 1:12-13 NIV)." My ancestors were of four separate lines and each are a part of my DNA. My spiritual ancestry reveals that I was born of God and he recorded my birth in the Book of Life. (Revelation 20:15) He created me in his image!
