Behavior Management
by PamFord Davis

Doctors diagnose countless children with hyperactivity disorder; many of the same young boys and girls bear the additional label of attention deficit disorder. Parents complain to doctors and trained counselors; their children's behavior problems and poor grades in school have overwhelmed them. How can they persuade their children to sit still and pay attention?

The Heavenly Father repeatedly instructs me to be still.

"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth (Psalms 46:10 NKJ)!"

He knows my tendency to squirm; I have annoying habits of taping my fingers on a table in nervousness and unconsciously crossing and uncrossing my arms in times of inner turmoil.

I will find peace each time I follow His directions, be still in His presence and know that He is GOD. He is the creator of the universe, is all-powerful and able to subdue the enemy of conflict as wars rage within between spirit and flesh.

He will glorify His name. My Lord is not making great demands. He redirects my focus, "Be still, and know that I am God (Psalms 46:10a NKJ)."
