Keep Scribbling
by PamFord Davis As soon as a child is able to hold a pencil or crayon in their chubby little hand they begin to scribble. I remember the big green pencils distributed by my kindergarten teacher Ms. Perceval and first grade teacher Ms. Steinberg. As I recall, my penmanship was average and no teachers discovered sketching talents, they just encouraged me to keep pencils sharpened and to stay between the lines. I followed their instructions and soon a standard size pencil replaced king-size and later that fell by the wayside. I expressed thoughts through pens. I have discovered that both a pen and my tongue can become highly useful tools of communication. "My heart overflows with a goodly theme; I address my verses to the king; my tongue is like a pen of a ready scribe (Psalms 45:1 NRS)." I'll keep scribbling to the King of Kings!
