Trials Turn to Testimony
by PamFord Davis I am humbled through a thorough look at the life of Job; I am ashamed of myself for being such a wimp and whiner in times of trouble. He did not achieve notoriety unscathed. Satan tempted him; the Lord tested him and righteous Job told of his testimony. I do not ask for a barrage of bad things to happen in order to build my faith yet I am keenly aware trials turn to testimony. One of my husband's pastors from days gone by tasted tragedy. His only children, two grown sons died after prolonged illness. He suffered a stroke and spent the remainder of his life in a convalescent center. Brother Russell grappled with the gruesome death of his wife. She was driving across a railroad crossing and did not see an approaching train. Why did a good man suffer so? I do not know. His trails turn to my testimony. Our pastor and his wife are troubled. They lovingly assist their oldest daughter in a time of illness of two of her three children and her husband. The baby boy of 7 months has been in the hospital with pneumonia for nearly a week; his older sister battles high fevers and their daddy ends up in a hospital emergency room with severe abdominal pain. Trials will turn to testimony. "But Jesus sent him away, saying, 'Go back home and tell people what God did for you.' So the man went all over town telling what Jesus had done for him (Luke 8:38b-39 ERV)."
