Just Breathe! Said Jesus
by lynn gipson Just Breathe! Jesus said Jesus My great nephew was recently born six weeks early. His little lungs were not fully developed and he had to have both a breathing tube and a feeding tube administered for two weeks in order to survive. During this time, I worried about what he might have been going through and it came to me it must have been something like this: "Well, I made through that little tunnel, now what do I do, Lord?" asked Daniel, as the first ray of light hit his face. "We seem to have a little problem." said Jesus. "No kidding, I'm gasping for air here!" said Daniel. "Just trust me, and don't panic, I am right here with you, just breathe!" said Jesus. "Don't panic? Just breathe? You're not the one turning purple here, if I could breathe I would scream!" cried Daniel. "Don't scream, just let go and let me do my work with the doctor. We will get you some air." said Jesus. "What's a doctor? Oh, that being there in the white coat. Wait a minute, what's he ramming down my throat?" Dear Lord, now I really can't breathe, he's killing me!" Daniel cried out. "Oh, no, not another one! This ones going up my nose! Please stop him, please. What's going on here?" "Just relax now, and keeping breathing, you will be better in a minute, hang on now, I am right here. " Jesus said. "You'd better be, cause I think I'm coming right back with you!" Daniel said, in frenzy. "No, you just got here and God has big plans for you." Jesus said, calmly. "I hope one of His plans doesn't include....oh now, that's nice, and I can breathe! Breathing feels so good; I might like this place after all. But I can't seem to do much, and I am a little hungry, Lord." said Daniel, trying to kick one leg hopelessly in the air. "Your hunger will go away in a few minutes. Right now there is someone here to meet you." said Jesus. "Oh, my mother! There she is! Hello Mother, I wondered where you were. I'm sorry, I'm afraid I was in such a hurry to meet you I got here a little too early!" Daniel cried out silently. "Why doesn't she pick me up and hold me? I thought that's what mothers did. Oh, she stroking my head and feet and hands, that feels so good." said Daniel. "She can't pick you up until you start breathing better, but that will be in no time, I promise." said Jesus. "Oh, I can't wait until that happens. Hey I'm not hungry anymore, and she didn't even feed me." Daniel said. "You have a feeding tube at the moment, but soon your mother will be able to feed you." Jesus explained. "Is this really what life is all about?' Breathing tubes and such?" asked Daniel. "No, but it is about trials and tribulations sometimes, and everyone experiences them. You just happened to go through them a little earlier than most." Jesus replied. "I'll think I'll just sleep now." said Daniel, yawning. ............................................................................................................................ "Hey, Dear Lord, how long have I been asleep?" asked Daniel. "Off and on, for about two weeks." Jesus replied. "Wow, I guess I got better, cause the tubes are gone and I can breathe! Where did you go while I was sleeping? "Daniel asked. "I was right here by your side." Said Jesus. "Oh, here's that Mother being again, and oh wow, she's picking me up, snuggling me, and now she's feeding me. She must really love me. This is what I've been waiting for." "I told you." Jesus said. "There are other beings here, smiling at me through that glass window." Daniel said, kicking his little legs now with no effort. "They're called people here on earth, Daniel. Those people are your father, brother and sister, and they are very happy to see you." Jesus explained. "Do they love me?" asked Daniel. "Very much so, and they will take good care of you as you grow up." "Are you leaving now, Dear Lord?" "No, I will be with you for the rest of you life." promised Jesus. "Good, Dear Lord, cause I'm gonna need you. This life thing is scary." Daniel replied. "Yes, it can be, but fear not, for I will never leave you or forsake you, I am with you always." said Jesus. "That's good to know, Dear Lord, good to know." said Daniel, as he drifted off in his mother's arms to dream about his life to come. I am a 61 year cancer survivor just recently become a writer.
