As patriarch, Jed solved the problems of those under his roof, and we enjoyed each spoof! Writers cleverly moved Jed even one-step higher on the rung of success and notoriety. He inherited a large estate in England. The family boarded a jet, and crossed the big pond. In humility, Jed accepted his title, "The Earl of Clampett," and claimed his inheritance. "Then the King will say to those at His right hand. Come, you blessed of My Father [you favored of God and appointed to eternal salvation], inherit (receive as your own) the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world (Matthew 25:34 Amplified Bible)."
