Are we too far gone
by Stanley Davis

"We are so far gone", echoes in my mind, a true statement from Ron Paul. A question comes to mind. Will America ever be a dominant fixture in the world again? Only God knows, but he could be waiting for you and me to become active.
This brings me to a statement I have heard recently about Barack Obama. Maybe you have heard it or something to this effect: "God put Obama in office and that he is ordained to be there." I am not sure how I should approach those comments, but let me try it. The Bible states in the book of Daniel that God removes kings and he sets them up. However, there is another passage in the book of Samuel where God told Samuel to make them a king of there own choosing, in other words, as they want. Therefore, this comment might not be altogether true. Let me tackle the first one in Daniel because it is very simple.
God does place people in power for accomplishing his desire on nations and people of his choosing. Think about Pharaoh, the power he had, and his accomplishments for the Egyptian people during the bondage of the children of Israel. God told Pharaoh that he had raised him up for a purpose; to show the world G'ods power and that God's name is glorified throughout the world. We know the story of Moses, how he led the children of Israel out of bondage and how Pharaoh and his armies were destroyed in the Red Sea. God did wonders and yet the people did not want to see it. That true story is still preached from pulpits across the world today and God gets the glory for it.
We also have the story of king Nebuchadnezzar and his conquest throughout the known world during his reign. God had placed him in power to do God's will against the ungodliness that was at that time. He destroyed many nations and countries under the direction of God. He even captured Jerusalem and carried away captive all he chose. Remember, God told Jeremiah the prophet that this would take place because the nation had turned from serving him, and Judah rejected Jeremiah for it. Even Nebuzar-adan, captain of the guard, explained in Jeremiah, that the Lord had pronounced this evil upon them because of their sin. Something we as Christians and Americans need to heed today.
Then we have the story of Saul, the first king of Israel, and his exploits, also recorded in God's word. He was the type of king the Israelites wanted. Remember what they said to Samuel, we want to be like the nations around us, they have a king and we want one too. What they really wanted was someone to answer to other than God. So God in his mercy said, okay you will have a king like the one you want. He also told them how their new king was going to be. How he would take their fields away and their sons for his purpose. Entered King Saul who was head and shoulders above the rest, a man you could look up to. He was the man the Israelites wanted. Unfortunately, he turned from serving God and instead chose to serve himself all the way to the end. That gives us another question to ask, how CHOICES affect our lives and those around us. Our choices are not always God's choices.
Let us look back to the statement about God placing Obama in office, we have two answers to discern between; One, God placed him in office and the other, God allowed us to choose him. Hard to decide, but either way you look at it, it does not matter, because it spells DOOM for America. Obama is a master at what he is doing and if you do not see it, you need to ask God to remove the covering from your eyes. Obama and his cronies have removed the very foundation of our Judeo Christian beliefs, bringing it down to a mere religion. They are closing the door on our Christian heritage and opening it to groups like the homosexual movement, giving them rights while removing ours. As we witness in this past election, we are now the minority. A time in history when evil is good and good is evil. We have allowed an enemy to come in and he is bringing this country to its knees. We as Christians and Americans need to stand together UNITED in this evil day. Our founding fathers did and they accomplished the birth of this great nation, and they knew whom to thank. We need to get on our knees. Maybe from there we can look up to the only one who can help, and with his mercy and grace, he will. Pray and then get up and get into the battle.
