First-Aid Treatment
by PamFord Davis My first-aid training likely started in my Fayetteville-Manlius Brownie troupe. Twenty years later, as a mother of two children, I had frequent on the job refresher courses. I applied antiseptic, bandages to cuts and scrapes. When their injuries were more serious, first-aid preceded a trip to the doctor's office. I entrusted their care into the hands of a physician. The Great Physician administers first-aid to prevent complications. "For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted (Hebrews 2:18 NKJ)." Yielding to temptation leads to serious injuries and Jesus is first to come to our aid. He understands, empathizes throughout eternity, because he endured temptation, yet never sinned. (Hebrews 4:15) I can only begin to fathom the fastidious first-aid dispensed by Christ. I place my well-being in competent hands.
