I think an intuitive inventor would have consumers baffled with a cross between the boomerang and Frisbee. I found a reference to boomeranging in the sacred scriptures.

The Book of Obadiah consists of only one solitary chapter. Acts by the Gentiles, against the nation of Israel, would boomerang.

"The Lord's vengeance will soon fall upon all Gentile nations. As you have done to Israel, so it will be done to you. Your acts will boomerang upon your heads (Obadiah 1:15 Living Bible)."
