GOD-TRACKING IS BEING SERIOUS ABOUT WALKING WITH CHRIST

One night he lay awake in his bed. The clock on his nightstand blinked 12.30am. He laid there thinking about the prophet they call Isa who the Christians call, Jesus the Christ. He knew very little more than what the Qur'an says about him, but he'd just had a very vivid dream in which this Jesus had appeared to him and said, "Come to me and I will give you rest." With this promise in mind, Abdulla decided to find out more for, so he got in touch with some Christians. They told him that Jesus had spoken these very words many years ago and that they were recorded in the Injeel (the Christian New Testament). He was convinced through his dream and the witness of these Christians that Jesus is indeed, the Son of God who died and rose again. He gave his life to Christ. Abdulla obtained a Bible and grew in his faith, but when his Bible was discovered, several of his family members treated him very harshly. Abdulla's father, an influential man in his society, when he found out about his son's new-found faith, forced him at gunpoint to recite the Shahada (the Islamic creed) so that he would be Muslim again. Slowly Abdulla gained some freedom. However, recently, when his family found out that he still secretly believed in Jesus they put extreme pressure on him to deny his Christian faith by sending him videos of the most brutal beheadings and other cruelties; expressing their determination to "solve this matter of shame" for the family. Abdulla represents the many, many heroes of the Christian faith who are suffering persecution for following Jesus in many countries today. These dear ones are beaten, abused and killed for simply acknowledging the lordship of Christ. These people are serious about walking with Jesus. They know well the meaning of Jesus' words, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me." Those suffering for their faith understand what Jesus meant when he said, "If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters--yes, even his own life--he cannot be my disciple." What a challenge to the rest of us who wake up late on a Sunday morning contemplating the pros and cons of going to church against turning over for another hour's kip. God-tracking is being serious about walking with Christ Every blessing Dudley Today's story is an adaption of a true account as reported by Open Doors (http://www.opendoorsuk.org) It's all in the Book Matthew 11:25-30 Mark 8:31-38 Luke 14:25-35 Vo/W Verse of the Week Joshua 24:15 But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD." Quote of the Week A Sample of Dudley's Fave Quotes "If you intend to accomplish anything, if you mean not to labour in vain or spend your strength for nothing; you must take your side. There can be no halting between two opinions. You must cooly, firmly and irrevocably make your determination and resolve that the Lord is your God, and that you will serve him only." --- Timothy Dwight Don't Give Up, Look Up! Look up and Fix Your Eyes on Jesus! You are my all in all and today I give you my all Pray: "Father God, I praise you for the great men, women and children who are suffering for the faith around the world. I pray for their strength and protection; for the peace and joy that you will help them to continue walking with Christ. However, I want to make a true statement of intent before you now to stay strong in my faith and take my walk with you, seriously. Help me to be bold and stout-hearted when persecution comes my way. Help me to not be apathetic or indifferent in my service of you. You are my all in all and today I give you my all. In Jesus' name. Amen."
