Going Steady
by PamFord Davis Do you remember your first going steady experience? You belonged to one another. The two of you exchanged notes at school, talked on the phone at every opportunity and spent as much time together as parents allowed. The relationship may have been brief or continued for years. Our LORD seeks a forever 'goin' steady' relationship, based on His love. "I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, I have continued to extend faithful love to you (Jeremiah 31:3b HCS)." He desires faithfulness. "Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength (Deuteronomy 6:5 HCS)." We do not wear His ring. Instead, He sealed the relationship. "In Him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvationin Him when you believedwere sealed with the promised Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13 HCS)." Are you in a 'relationship' with Jesus?
