Hope
by Leonard Granger HOPE When someone says, " I hope it all turns out alright" , we appreciate the well wishers concern. However. when they add, " I will be praying about the difficulty for you", then we know they are doing something to help us. As David tells us about putting our trust, faith and hope in the Lord Jesus Christ, Psalm 16:9, " Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth, my flesh shell rest in Hope". Yes, " Jesus is Hope and Hope is Jesus " as the car bumper sticker reads that our pastor recently gave us. Hope can mean many different things as our dictionary states. Hope maybe a feeling that what is wanted will happen, then again it could be a thing or person on which one may base some hope. As Christians our hope is based on the promise our gracious and loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ gave us when we became His servant and child, that he will guide and protect us until the day He takes us home to be will Him. I tell those that are depressed and feel hopeless what Hope means to me. I like to break down the word Hope, H --Hearing the Gospel, O--Opens P -- Peoples E -- Ears, and let them hear the saving salvation our Lord Jesus Christ will give us. If we only believe in our heart and confess Him with our mouths we have HOPE. John 3:16, " For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." We see news recently where a popular magazine told of the plight of some farmers who had lost all Hope in their life's work of a tilling the soil. Some chose to end their life because hardships became so unbearable. Yes, we have droughts with a shortage of irrigation water that is vital to successful farming. but our Lord says he will supply our needs and provide a way of escape according to 1 Corinthians 10:13 "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." A very dry winter season required that the cattle be fed hay, but our prayers were answered bringing us an extended rainy season, It is now going into the month of May and our pasture land is not yet needing the precious water from the man made storage lake that is available to us. I praise the Lord often and try to walk by His side as I know He will protect and guide us as His children here on earth. Trust this Sunday we will all be in the church of our choice singing and worshiping our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. God Bless America No Copyright.
