Taking His Stand
by PamFord Davis Consider the familiar 'Mr. Clean' characterization on timeless commercials. He sees a household's dirty mess; stands erect with feet and legs apart and folds his arms. Surveying the unkempt home, 'Mr. Clean' proceeds to clean up the disheveled mess. Jesus, Lamb of God and Lion of Judah will return as promised; taking a stand, He will begin His earthly reign. "For I know that my Redeemer lives, and He shall stand at last on the earth; and after my skin is destroyed, this I know, that in my flesh I shall see God, whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another. How my heart yearns within me (Job 19:25-27 NKJ)!" God sees the wickedness of our ways; Jesus will wield His righteous judgment. All will see His return. "And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, from east to west, making a very large valley; half of the mountain shall move toward the north and half of it toward the south (Zechariah 14:4 NKJ)." Jesus will cleanse the world of sin!
