I remember, throughout primary school, the class would stand together first thing in the morning and recite by rote, "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done" This prayer became the standard starting point of my prayer life when I eventually gave my life to Jesus. These words are a powerful yet simple prayer that Jesus taught his disciples to pray. Though a prescribed prayer, I believe that this prayer is a fabulous formula to use to develop your prayer life. It begins with praise and worship, takes you through submission to God, making requests for your needs, confession of sin and on into spiritual warfare against the forces of evil. However, for me, the most powerful part of this prayer is when we pray the words, "thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." God-tracking is all about submitting to the perfect will of God. I believe that God has a plan for our lives; a plan to prosper us and hope for a good future. If you know Christ as saviour and acknowledge the Lord in all you do then you will put yourself in line to enjoy the plans of God for your life. God's plans are God's will for you. The scripture calls us to renew our thinking so that we will be transformed to know and experience God's perfect will. This implies that sometimes our thinking is so clouded by the patterns of this world that we don't clearly see God's plans for our lives and end up stepping outside of his perfect will. Therefore, we need to prayerfully correct our thinking and set our minds on things above and not on earthly things. Doing this will open us to discover God's amazing plans for our lives and lead us to walk squarely within his will. So pray, your will be done in my daily life, O Lord, as it is done in heaven. God's will is explicitly done in Heaven! Nothing in heaven is external to the will of God. All the angels and the hosts of heaven behave exactly according to God's good commands and God's good desires. Because of this we may conclude that there is absolutely no evil, decay or depravity in heaven. In the glories of heaven there is no sickness, disease, depression, worry or want. In heaven there is no death, no mourning or crying or pain. Here God is all in all. The Lord Almighty is the light and life of heaven. There is absolutely no need for anything in heaven. This is the will of God in heaven and this can be the will God for you, if you dare to pray, your will be done in my daily life, O Lord, as it is done in heaven. God-tracking is enjoying God's will on earth as it is enjoyed in heaven Blessings Dudley It's all in the Book Matthew 6:9-13 Jeremiah 29:11 Colossians 3:1-6 Revelation 21:1-4 Follow Dudley Anderson on Twitter @godtracker Vo/W Verse of the Week Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Quote of the Week Sample of Dudley's Fave Quotes "The will of God for your life is simply that you submit yourself to Him each day and say, "Father, Your will for today is mine. Your pleasure for today is mine. Your work for today is mine. I trust you to be God. You lead me today and I will follow." --- Kay Arthur Don't Give Up, Look Up! Look up and Fix Your Eyes on Jesus! Your kingdom be manifest in me and I pray that your will be done in my life exactly as it is done in heaven "My Father in heaven, praise to your holy name. Your kingdom be manifest in me and I pray that your will be done in my life exactly as it is done in heaven. Grant me my daily needs and provisions for today and forgive me of my sins, as I confess them in Jesus' name. I choose also to forgive those who have sinned against me. And, dear Lord, don't allow me to be tempted but deliver me from the attacks of Satan. I pray this to your glory because yours in the kingdom and power and majesty forever. In Jesus' name. Amen."
